Steve Forbes, in a fireside chat at AlwaysON, really still wants to please his readers. Forbes is still a family business, after all. What’s important to Forbes today? Still covering democratic capitalism through an honest lens - by providing critical, format-irrelevant data. Interesting. Forbes considers information information, whether it’s via print, online or through blogs. Different formats can’t succeeed with the same staff though - but is this still true? He’s acknowledging Forbes history of embracing new technologies by giving the online property an entirely distinct staff. Will the offline and online staffs converge? In business press today, the platform drives the content - so the question remains how to identify tactics that keep the messages clean, fact-checked and truly reflective of the business landscape.
